The studio
Design begins with understanding.
One 8 Gravity Studio is an architecture, interior design and project management practice based in Indore, established in July 2022 by Principal Designer Mihir Jain.
We believe that every project has its own character, shaped by its place, its people and the way it is meant to be lived. Rather than imposing a predefined aesthetic, we begin by asking questions — how will the space be used, what does it need to enable, what can it become, and what should it endure?
Approach
The brief is not an answer, but a beginning.
Our approach is rooted in clarity, functionality and purpose. We look for opportunities within constraints, allowing planning, proportion, material and light to work together naturally. Every decision is intended to have a reason — creating spaces that are intuitive, comfortable and meaningful without unnecessary excess.
Sustainability, to us, begins with designing responsibly: thoughtful choices about orientation, planning, materials, resources and longevity. A sustainable space is not simply one with added green features, but one that is designed to perform well, age gracefully and remain relevant over time.
Architecture, interiors and execution are not separate stages of the process. They are interconnected parts of the same idea. Through Architecture, Interior Design and Project Management, we remain involved from conception to realization, bringing equal attention to design intent and the realities of construction.
As a young practice, we are less interested in following a signature style and more interested in developing a way of thinking.

The force that holds it all together.
One 8 Gravity finds its origin in the idea of a system held together by relationships. For us, this becomes a metaphor for architecture: a composition of relationships between people and space, form and function, light and material, structure and context. No element exists in isolation.
Just as gravity quietly governs the world around us, these relationships shape how architecture is experienced. Good design is not about individual elements, but about how they come together as one coherent whole.
